Working with stones in counselling
This training will look at introducing stones into the counselling room. We will explore together plain and varnished stones, emotion faces stones, wrapped stones, with an opportunity to explore further in breakout groups.
Learning outcomes
After this training you will be able to:
- Feel competent to introduce stones as a journey within the counselling sessions.
- Encourage clients to develop their understanding of hidden emotions and engaging with them.
- Use a wrapped stone to explore a stuck place or difficult unresolved memory.
About the trainer
Angie Petrie is a creative counsellor and supervisor working mainly in private practice in the beautiful Kent countryside. She is part of Crossline Christian Counselling service in Maidstone and enjoys being part of a supportive team. She has been fortunate to attend the level 5 training with Pauline Andrew on Creative Interventions in Counselling. This supports her workshop style of training which she offers from her purpose-built counselling space. With workshops including stones, clay and sand tray, Angie prefers working with natural materials and offering them for counsellors to explore before experiencing them with clients.
