Catherine Pozzo (Kate) has lived most of her life in the South of the UK, growing up in Sussex and Surrey. For over 20+ years, she has worked as a graphic designer while supporting her husband, Johnny, who is an ordained Baptist Minister. They began Christian ministry, serving in a church plant and then a multicultural church in southwest London, and at times, travelling to other countries to support people and ministries. Kate’s visits to Burundi in central Africa, Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia, and Northumberland in the UK, ignited her interest in psychology, diversity, spirituality, faith, and reflective and contemplative practices. These led her to formation in spiritual direction/accompaniment, training and working as a qualified and registered integrative counsellor, and more recently, pastoral supervision.
Kate has worked in a non-profit counselling agency in the southeast and is now living in the northeast, developing her private practice by working face-to-face and online. She is passionate about providing a safe space for people to be heard and listened to, make sense of their stories, find connection and hope, grow, heal, and flourish. Kate works in a relational, integrative approach and is a registered member of the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). She is a member of the community of spiritual directors at the London Centre for Spiritual Direction (LCSD) and the Association of Pastoral Supervision Education (APSE) and an associate of the Northumbrian Collective.
Kate’s prior professional background as a graphic designer involved working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team on strategy and communications in the public sector and projects for third-sector charities and churches. She continues to work on select graphic design projects as part of her work portfolio and enjoys exploring coastal landscapes, travel, mixed media and digital art, and spending time with family and friends.
