I grew up in the London Borough of Hackney.  I was once one of 150 boys and girls in the choir at St Marks church in Dalston. On leaving school my first job was in banking.  I moved from banking to haberdashery, from haberdashery to youth work, where I stayed for almost 20 years. From there I became a support teacher in a special needs school. This was unexpected; however, it was a job I thoroughly enjoyed. The job allowed me to learn new skills, such as planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons.

I started my therapy journey in 2007. I was looking for a therapist and could not find anybody that looked like me. So I decided to become the person I was looking for. What I love about being a counsellor is the continued learning, especially about myself and learning from my clients. Our church set up a counselling service to help the local community. My wife and I offer our services to this service, which also works with local churches. As a couple we offer couples counselling. Although we offer a local service we have worked with couples from various parts of the UK.

In my downtime I love building Lego Star Wars kits and, in the summer, cycling.
